| Niek van de Steeg remakes the world rebuilding his world in which his own economics such as his family economics are taking place.He works on the complexity of reality, the reality of a society which is with an existing history whose metaphore takes the form of a multiple entry system.The "Great Democratic Administration" (GDA) was born via a mediatised architectural project which includes all the methods and the readings relative to the media; it then, becomes a kind of fantasy Babel tower where fiction meets with reality and vice versa.Niek van de Steeg is putting up utopic objects in his propositions of installations. These objects always play with changings scales going from a general view of a construction up to its minor detail. This gigantic machine works as a space of correction of this gigantic machine keeps on multiplying new grips on reality and simultaneously puts at risks the whole building since a small change opens to new parameters to be taken into account and to new relationships to invent.The machine can become a theatre set. One can think of the decorations for the 1989 revolution or the Monument of the IIIrd revolution by Tatline, among other examples.This instrument can be fearsome, it can become a trap. Moreover thanks to its absurdity, the stimulation of its use or the use and the experimentation attached to the gigantic structure, the object of fantasy loses its nightmarish specificity and becomes an instrument of delight and pleasure.Thanks to the materials, the home made aspect, flexible and remaining imperfect, lightness disappears to the benefit of menace.
